Work at SSCHRC

Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital  and Research Centre invites applications for:

1. ​CONSULTANT HAEMATOPATHOLOGIST  

The applicant should have worked in a busy centre of repute that does bone marrow transplantation. A minimum qualification of MD in Pathology is required, DM / Fellowship in Hematopathology is preferred. The candidate will be working in close understanding with Medical Oncologists, Paediatric Oncologists and BMT Specialists. He/she is also expected to be an active member of clinical and laboratory research team, knowledge of flow cytometry is essential.

2. CONSULTANT CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGIST (MD IN PHARMACOLOGY)  

The candidate should have keen interest in pharmacotherapeutics & pharmacovigilance; exposure to clinical drug trials is desirable. The incumbent will have a major role in ensuring safety of drug administration and is expected to head the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and the Institutional Pharmacovigilance Committee.

 

3. CONSULTANT IN PAIN & PALLIATIVE CARE - Candidate with minimum postgraduate qualification in either Anaesthesia/General Medicine with Fellowship in Palliative Care are sought. The candidate is expected to have good knowledge of regional blocks; should oversee the functioning of Domiciliary Palliative Care and Bereavement Counselling.

4. CONSULTANT BIOCHEMIST (MD IN BIOCHEMISTRY) - The consultant will have the operational responsibility of the Clinical Biochemistry Lab. The incumbent will be participating in research and will also be teaching postgraduate students.

5. SENIOR BIOSTATISTICIAN - Experienced and qualified person required to head the Department of Biostatistics. The incumbent 

  • Should work closely with clinicians in the conduct of research, both community and hospital based. 

  • Should involve in training postgraduates in biostatistics. 

  • Is Expected to oversee the functions of cancer registry

6. DESKTOP & HARDWARE/NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER - The candidate should be trained and experienced in system hardware, networking and Microsoft (MCSA and MCP) 

The candidate should be qualified to handle basic software installation and manage hardware of hospital desktops and printers.

  • Epidemiologist

  • Clinical Psychologist

  • Experienced Nurses

  • Head – Front Office

  • Front Office Staff – 6 posts

  • House Keeping Supervisors – 3 posts

Intern at SSCHRC 

Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is a super specialty hospital that diagnoses and treats high volumes of rare and complex cancer cases in the state. The hospital has a unique model of low cost-high quality model that ensures optimized care. This makes our hospital an ideal learning centre for young doctors, dentists, pharmacologists, nurses and hospital management students to observe and train for a short a period of time.

Volunteer with Us

If you are interested in spending your time spreading joy by helping out at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, we’d be happy to have you on board with our volunteer team - CANAID!

 

CANAID is our dedicated network of volunteers who spend their time helping our SSCHRC Team with day-to-day activities as well as providing comfort and support to our patients. 

The opportunities to volunteer at SSCHRC can be broadly classified into long term and short term depending on the requirement of the task.

Volunteer Roles

  • Patient Co-ordination - guide around the hospital, OPD management, Day care chemo assistance (Long term)

  • Chemotherapy ward - assistance and moral support (Long term)

  • Abandoned or lonely patients, camp patients - support and help (Long term)

  • Procure patient feedback (Short term)

  • Data entry (Short term)

  • Organize fund-raising events (Short term)

  • Help conduct awareness programs (Short term)

  • Create awareness material (Short term)

 

Since we function in an environment that requires us to be aware and sensitive of the fragile physical and mental status of our patients and their families, we look for certain qualities in our volunteers so that everyone’s time is used in the best way possible.

Student Observers

At Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, we believe young talent and interest in service to humanity must be nurtured and given a chance to blossom.

We frequently allow a few students to volunteer/observe the day to day activities at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. This experience provides the youth with a chance to explore various opportunities to contribute to cancer care in the present or future.

Please keep in mind the access you may get to patients and their treatment may be limited as the mental and physical wellbeing of our patients is of the highest priority to us.
