The Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre has a grand vision for 2020, it is to train more anaesthesiologists in the super specialty of Onco Anaesthesia. In this regard, the department organized a CME in Onco Anaesthesia on 16th February 2020.

With eminent anaesthesiologists as resource personnel as speakers and panelists, the event received excellent feedback from the 120 odd delegates who attended the programme.

The delegates were awarded 2 KMC credit points for the same.





On World Cancer Day, 4th February 2020, a Japanese Delegation of Senior Maxillofacial Surgeons visited Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. Led by renowned surgeon, Prof. Dr. Kanichi Seto, the team interacted with the doctors and patients of SSCHRC and shared their experience of treating oral and maxillofacial cancers in Japan. The team also spent valuable time with the children at the Paediatric Oncology unit and even put up a traditional Japanese dance performance for them. It was our pleasure to host the delegation and look forward to many such interactions in the future.


Our Departments of Pathology and Gynaec Oncology conducted a CME in Gynaec Onco Pathology on 8th February 2020 at Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. The CME had several renowned pathologists and gynaecologists as speakers such Dr. Kedar Deodhar, Dr. Radhika Srinivasan, Dr. Premalata C.S., Dr. Latha Venkataram, Dr. Pallavi, Dr. Premalatha T.S., Dr. Veena R., and Dr. Julain Crasta.


The event had an enriching line up of talks, panel discussions, case discussions, quizzes and was attended by nealry 200 delegates from across the state.


Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is extremely delighted to have started 2020 with a successful event for exchange of knowledge!
